I'm a thirty something Midwestern gal with a black lab that has completely and utterly melted my heart. My favorite thing to do is take him for hikes up in Wisconsin where he manages to find the biggest stick possible and carry it for miles. I'm a home-body who loves nothing more than reading a good book, honing my gardening skills and tackling home improvement projects. My roots are Swedish {props to Grandma} so my propensity tends to be towards all things of Scandinavian design.
The idea for the blog came about in February 2008. I tend to find some interesting things online and I love nothing more than sharing them with friends. So I thought, why not expand my network of friends and enter the blogging community.
I do have a bent for anything made of felt, table runners, tea towels and linen.... Nevertheless, I always try to feature products that are from smaller, independent and less mainstream sites. From time to time I will slip in a totally ridiculous item that no one can afford but I'd say 8 out of 10 posts feature a product that is quite reasonably priced. Good design doesn't have to put you in the poor house.
To make things a little more structured {because I do THRIVE on routine}, I have broken the week into different categories:
Monday - products for the HOME
Tuesday - products for the COOK/KITCHEN
Wednesday - products for KIDS/PETS
Thursday - GREEN or Eco-friendly products
Friday - products you can WEAR
Saturday - My rotator category - HOLIDAY, OUTDOOR or PAPER
Sunday - INDIE products from etsy.com
