Prepare yourself for a color explosion! This is exactly what we all need, a little jolt of energy to get us through the rest of winter. Rice is a Danish/Thai partnership that began in 1998. The carry all sorts of products including melamine dinnerware, home decor, picnic baskets, outdoor accessories, pillows and blankets, candles, floor coverings.... the list goes on and on. And all of it comes in these candy colors and is chock full of happiness. Just take it all in and think Spring!
I have a collection of big bead single strand necklaces and I have them in most colors but I do not have black! And how striking to have the matte black onyx beads with red leather knots? Hmmm... must add to my accessory arsenal. $50 from Ball & Chain's Etsy shop.

TEN is a collection of ten designers that have spent the last few years focused on sustainable projects. In their fifth year, this group of designers is presenting Ten Plan, a collection of ten projects that you can make on your own. You can download the plans for free, but they do suggest a donation. So if you are feeling crafty this weekend, download a plan and make anything from a bike rack to balloon bowls to a coat rack picture rail.
Appreciation and gratitude. Is it innate or something that can be taught? Not too sure but all I know is that my mom and dad always insisted that I write thank you notes when I was a kid. And they had to be sent within a week of receiving a gift. Luckily, that lesson has stuck with me and to this day, I always send handwritten thank you notes (even my dog does... no joke). Duluth Pack is a company that has been making luggage, totes, knapsacks and bags since 1882. All made in the USA right out of Minnesota. I read an article this past week and apparently their line has been picked up by the likes of Barney's. See, wool plaid has its place... from Barney's to the banks of Lake Superior.
Quick post just to catch up... Velocity Art & Design has all of their Coyuchi products on sale through January 31st. Coyuchi makes organic bedding and bath linens that are gorgeous.... my favorite shower curtain on earth (yes, I covet a shower curtain) is the Coyuchi rustic linen curtain in gray with mustard and ivory stripes (made in India from flax grown in France and Belgium). It is on sale now for a mere $153. Oh, rustic linen gray shower curtain, I will continue to admire you from afar. SIGH.
Adorable kid alert! Can you just imagine how much fun these photo shoots were? Anyway, I digress... Plastisock is a Swedish clothing company that began in 2005 with a dream to create colorful and playful designs for kids clothing. Mission accomplished. Most of the site is in Swedish so I'm not able to give you much more info other than the clothing is darn adorable. And it appears as though it is Oekotex certified (which is a good thing). Fever Tree is an independently owned company that is passionate about cocktails... surprisingly, not the alcohol, but the mixer. Their philosophy is why spoil premium liquor with poor quality mixers so they developed their own line. The products include Indian tonic water, ginger beer, lemonade, spring soda water, lemon tonic and premium ginger ale. Supposedly 7 out of 10 of the best restaurants in the world serve Fever Tree. Ferm Living, the Danish design shop, has always been a favorite of mine for their tea towels. Well I was blown away when I saw their new knitted accessories collection. The knitted baskets, pillows and vases are all knit hand and come in colors like charcoal, petrol, yellow, coral, off white, grey and blue. I like the big charcoal colored basket to hold firewood. I need something to hold firewood....I need more firewood...Dad, need more firewood.
