WEDNESDAY - PETS - PUPPIA

Getting your dog strapped into a harness can be a painful process for both you and the dog..... it's difficulty level is right up there with trying to put on control top pantyhose (on you, not on your dog).  Anyway, Puppia, the world's leading dog fashion company out of Australia, has created the ultimate mesh harness.  It's a snap to put on and is super comfortable for your pet.  Made specifically for smaller dog breeds, the collection also includes matching collars and leads.  Get them from The New York Dog Shop and lots of other online retailers.

TUESDAY - COOK - THELERMONT HUPTON

Thelermont Hupton is a design partnership between David Hupton and Yve Thelermont.  Their collection include furniture, lighting, tableware and home accessories.  They best part about their pieces is that they make sense.  For example, the knee coffee mug that has an indented bottom, perfect for resting your mug on your knee or thumb bowl that makes carrying a heavy plate of grub through a buffet line a breeze.  No matter how civilized we pretend to be, we all on occasion eat and drink around the house in a room other than the dining room.

MONDAY - HOME - WEPLIGHT

Yes, these lamp shades really are made of wood...sustainably grown wood veneer in Oak, Teak or Wenge to be exact.  They are made by Weplight and can also be bought at Shop Fosters.  Check out the actual Weplight site for leather versions of the shade as well.  Each style is named for the year the piece evokes... this one is the 1947 Madera.

SUNDAY - INDIE - RAINY PRINTS

Artwork doesn't come cheap.... but thanks to the world of Etsy, we can all have a piece of fine craftsmanship at a very reasonable price.  Take RainyPrints for example... she is from Taiwan, living in Michigan and making gorgeous linoleum and wood relief prints.  My favorite is the Red Rooster Print.... $25 and about 8x10.  Now there were only 30 made so don't you all go buying them before I can get one.  Check out the shop and BUY HANDMADE!

SATURDAY - PAPER - PANCAKE & FRANKS

Probably my favorite letterpress designer out there... Pancake & Franks.  All printed on 100% recycled paper.  They have an online minimum order of 6 cards... good luck trying to buy ONLY six! 

FRIDAY - WEAR - HAYDEN

Oh, if I had lots and lots of money I would buy a crewneck cashmere sweater from Hayden in green, golden yellow, cobalt, purple, red, black, ivory, flannel grey and chocolate brown.  Let's see.... 9 sweaters at $240 a pop.... that's $2,160 (basically a mortgage payment ot two).  OR, you could splurge and get ONE on sale right now at Bluefly for $89.  A wee bit more justifiable. 

THURSDAY - GREEN - REVOLUTION TEA

All tea seems like it should be organic.  Teabasically is plants right?  Ahhh...not so my friend.... Revolution Teahas spent years perfecting the art of organic tea with their Green Earl Grey Tea, White Chair Tea, Scottish Breakfast Tea and Huckleberry Red Herbal Tea.  That's right, all certified organic.  Drink in good conscious.  I'm a stickler for good packaging too.  These tins would make nice pencil cups... organic pencils that is.

WEDNESDAY - KIDS - KNUCKLEHEADS

Do you have a little boy that's got an old soul?  Then I suggest you get him the Knuckleheads Cassidy Shirt and Pub Hat.  He and gramps can team up fora cuteness factor that is off the charts.  The houndstooth sweater vest is also a must have.  Get Knuckleheads and all sorts of hip baby and kids clothes from Modern Munchkin.

TUESDAY - COOK - RACHEL RAY

To me, winter means comfort food and comfort food means casseroles.  Throw a bunch of stuff in a dish and let it bake!  My grandma has a classic recipe that's just ground beef, onion, a can of mixed vegetables and a can (yes I said can) of spaghetti in cheese sauce.  Mix and bake.... If it came out of this casserole dish from Rachel Ray's collection, some might even call me a gourmet.  Get it here.

MONDAY - HOME SCHOOL OUTFITTERS

Take a step back and think about your middle school or high school from a decorator's point of view.  Are you only remembering the mint green cinder block walls?  Well there are a lot of really retro and very practical pieces of furniture in schools.... If only I could get my hands on some lockers or something.... WAIT!  You can!  School Outfitters has all you would ever need.  Think lockers for your mud room, the science cabinet to store all your linens, the mail room sorter to house all of your craft project supplies and a steel desk for under $200!   Lesson learned....
