Welcome back to the daily grind! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday! Now that January is almost here (ick) I get into this phase where all I want to do is organize and decorate. In my pursuit of new things to spruce up the house, I found Duffy London, a company that makes furniture, lighting and interior products designed mostly by the founder, Chris Duffy. This do-it-yourself lampshade allows you to affix anything you want to the sticky outer layer. Stick on photos, vintage fabric, decorative paper etc... to create your very own floor lamp or pendant lamp. Send them a photo of the final product and you could win a prize!

Wall Blank is probably one of the most clever concepts I have come across in a long time. Basically, the site lists a new limited edition print every day that is only available for one week or until the piece sells out. The best part is that the proceeds from the print released every Friday will be donated to a non-profit organization (No Profit Fridays as they call it). It's a fantastic way to be exposed to artists of all different genres and get some extraordinary artwork at pretty reasonable prices. Also, if you sign up for the email newsletter you are automatically entered to win a print every week! They hail from Rockford, IL too!
It may be late to get this adorable papercut tree set in time for Christmas but you can buy it now for next year from Jenny Lee Fowler, a highly talented silhouette artist. Or even better, buy someone a gift certificate from her Etsy shop to use towards a custom silhouette portrait. Beats a trip to the mall on the busiest shopping weekend of the year. So you have 7 days until Christmas . . . ordering something online and paying a fortune to throw it on a gas guzzling jet so you can have it within 24 hours doesn't seem very "green" to me.
